The International Journal of Distance Education Technologies (IJDET) is a forum for researchers and practitioners to disseminate practical solutions that support learners, teachers, and administrators in open and distance learning environments. Targeted to academic researchers and engineers who work with distance learning programs and software systems, as well as general users of distance education technologies and methods, IJDET discusses computational methods, algorithms, implemented prototype systems, and applications of open and distance learning. Headed by a well-published IGI Global Editor in Chief, IJDET prominently publishes research from contributors on six continents, bringing a uniquely global perspective to this broad topic. IJDET is featured in numerous prestigious indices including Web of Science® – Emerging Sources Citation Index®, Scopus®, Compendex®, PsycInfo®, and INSPEC®, among others. All manuscripts submitted to the journal are double-blind peer reviewed, providing the most current and rigorously tested research in this subject.

Mission

The International Journal of Distance Education Technologies (IJDET) publishes original research articles of distance education four issues per year. IJDET is a primary forum for researchers and practitioners to disseminate practical solutions to the automation of open and distance learning. This journal is targeted to academic researchers and engineers who work with distance learning programs and software systems, as well as general participants of distance education. All manuscripts submitted to the journal are peer-reviewed according to the procedure consisting of initial review, peer review, and recommendation.

Submission

Prospective authors should note that only original and previously unpublished article manuscripts will be considered. All initial submissions must be between 5,000 and 7,000 words. All article manuscript submissions will be forwarded to at least three members of the editorial review board of the journal for a double-blind peer review. The final decision regarding acceptance/revision/rejection will be based on the reviews received from the reviewers.
