Sense of belonging in science is a topic that has been dissected in different ways in technical publications, as it remains elusive for so many individuals pursuing careers in science. Essentially, studies have shown that belonging can matter so much, well-qualified individuals would rather depart from the pursuit of a career in science than continue experiencing feelings of alienation. This book aims to capture the voices of scientists at various stages of their science career pursuit, allowing them to unpack, in as unfiltered a process as possible, situations where they either felt a strong or reduced sense of belonging.
