Dr. Moumtzoglou's book,
Quality Assurance in the Era of Individualized Medicine (ISBN: 9781799823902) published by IGI Global, addresses a crucial issue in contemporary medical practices. It sheds light on the fact that many medical decisions are made without sufficient data for a large portion of the population. However, the growing capacity to gather and apply such information brings hope. As medicine becomes more personalized, the book emphasizes the vital role of health IT and data interoperability in delivering quality healthcare.
Dr. Moumtzoglou's book has garnered widespread acclaim from experts both within and beyond the industry. Here, we present
Prof. Vasileios Gikas glowing endorsement of Dr. Moumtzoglou's book.
Review From the Prof. Vasileios Gikas:
I am writing as an Academician, Economist and Politician (Honorable Member of the House of Representatives, Pennsylvania At-Large Representative, in Greece, as an American Citizen Abroad, between 2016 - 2021) to highlight the novelty of Dr Anastasius Moumtzoglou's scientific research.
While our understanding of quality is widespread, the challenges remain for 1) the systematic and reliable measurement, 2) analysis and use of findings toward performance improvement, and 3) the multi-dimensional systems approach for the efficient production of services with desirable outcomes.
The scientific research of Dr Anastasius Moumtzoglou is a paradigm where knowledge from various disciplines is synthesized and shared to improve healthcare's appropriateness and safety. He thoughtfully merges and intersects knowledge from clinical medicine, public health, economics, sociology and informatics, addressing issues relevant to most healthcare professionals. As a result, his research covers the three dimensions of innovation: the locus of innovation, the cognitive frame employed to understand the conditions and actions that lead to innovation, and the application domain.
His research shifts the locus of innovation from solution novelty to the study of classes of problems and focuses on the patient. Moreover, the cognitive frames he has employed to understand the conditions and actions lead to innovation, as they confront uncertainty versus facilitated intersections, study heuristics (e.g., analogical reasoning), and reshape the discipline of creativity focusing on outcome-oriented design. Simultaneously, his research encompasses the application domain, which spans undergraduate and extended degree program students, graduate students of healthcare quality and health services management, healthcare managers, health professionals, researchers, professors, and academicians.
Overall, his research over the last decade is timely, its multi-disciplinary approach most needed, and the scholarly content immediately amenable to applied research, practice and policy.
In summary, I give Dr. Anastasius Moumtzoglou my highest recommendation. He is an exceptional researcher, practitioner and colleague, and his dedication to academic research and compassion for others make him a standout scientist.
His scientific research encompasses the creation of a new scientific domain based on the interaction of healthcare quality theory and e-health.
